The Axis of Time series - John Birmingham
I just finished reading this series, and thoroughly enjoyed it!
The series takes a fictional multinational force from the year 2021 and throws them back in time (thanks to idiot scientists) into the middle of the Pacific in 1942... in fact into the middle of an American fleet.
There is so much to work with here, and John does a brilliant job dealing with the impacts of modern technology and a society that no longer discriminates by race, gender, or religion. Imagine the fun of having Russians and Japanese as part of the multinational force? And what happens when the bad guys also get hold of the technology?

Why did I read this? Because I answered yes to 8 of the 9 questions above. And it worked. By taking the vitamins and minerals recommended in this book, and working on reducing stressors (or my response to them), I am now a happy and healthy person once more. I sleep all night and wake up refreshed!

Just Listen - Mark Goulston

Why am I reading this?
My husband has severe anxiety, ADHD, and is suspicious that people have their own agendas (which of course are not in his best interests). He also has chronic joint pain as well as fibromyalgia and is probably not on enough pain killers, as he regularly runs out of them, and then becomes depressed and has suicidal thoughts.
My agenda is for him to learn to take care of himself; i.e eat 3 meals a day, sleep regular hours, and take his meds as prescribed. And if something isn't working out for him, that we do something about it. Gee, underhanded of me, huh?
The first chapter sold me on the rest of the book (which I borrowed from the library, but at this rate, will purchase later).
I'm still reading (just finished chapter 3), but I had to post now... so others can hear about this great book!
Oh, and you've gotta love a chapter with a title like this: Move Yourself from "Oh F@#& to OK"
